Since I'm Jewish and not a Christian I'm a bit bewildered. Last
Sunday I was watching Roman Catholic services on the television. I
noticed the priest lift something that is called a host that is
basically bread above his head and bless it. After he blesses it then
the host becomes the body of Christ and is fit to be eaten by the
congregation of the church. Likewise when he holds the wine up over
his head and blesses it then the wine becomes the blood of Christ and
is fit to be drank by the congregation of the Church.
So these are my questions; Say the Church is a Jewish or Muslim Church
that observes Kashrut and Hallel laws. Could the priest then lift a
rack of beef ribs over his head and bless them and said such ribs
become the ribs of Christ? Or to go even further what if the priest
lifted the testicules of a bull (rocky mountain oysters) over his head
and blessed the testicules would they then become the balls of
Christ? I would think that all these are part of the body of Christ.
So I suppose if I'm hungry on Sunday since I'm a Jew I could go to a
Jewish Church and have a meal of a rack of Jesus'es ribs and balls
right? What has me bewildered is that it doesn't seem right that
Jesus died on the cross so that mankind could become a bunch of
cannibals eating his body and drinking his blood. Sounds like
something the African heathens do.
