Subject: #90 Is hair-raising from a Van de Graaff a form of Meissner Effect? then a Wimshurst and Van de Graaff are superconductors; new textbook: "How Superconductivity really works; nanosecond Capacitor discharge current"

Not much difference between a Wimshurst and a Van de Graaff
generators. Both are capacitors and both have
dielectric materials. Both have a Capacitor Current.

As each day goes by, I am becoming more educated on diamagnetism.

Some scientists have stated that all materials are diamagnetic,
provided the paramagnetism and ferromagnetism
are not present to overpower the diamagnetism. And that Organic
chemistry is the best place to look for
diamagnetism.

Wikipedia has a web entry showing the levitation of a frog due to
diamagnetism. And there is levitation
of water due to diamagnetism.

But the most intriguing question for me at the moment is to what
extent can I claim that Hair-Raising
from a Van de Graaff generator is really not much more than the
Meissner Effect of a magnet
levitated in a superconduction field?

So how reasonable is it for me to claim Hair-Raising is the organic
chemistry demonstration of the
Meissner Effect using a Van de Graaff? I think I am on very firm
ground here in making that claim.

There maybe a difference in the concept of Meissner Effect as to
"Perfect Diamagnetism"? As
compared to say "imperfect diamagnetism."

That Hair Raising from a Van de Graaff maybe a degree difference from
Meissner Effect of levitating magnet over a
electric superconductor of mercury at 4 Kelvin.

Then again, we must remember that Type II superconductors of
perovskites of recent news are not
perfect-diamagnetic. So here we begin to see "degree differences" also
in physical chemistry of the
Meissner Effect.

Summary: Hair Raising from a Van de Graaff is suspiciously close to
the phenomenon of the
Meissner Effect on Type I superconductors, where the levitation
occurrs in both demonstrations
and involves a degree of diamagnetism.
