Each post has a header. Occasionally, the header points to an
actual address to which complaints can be addressed. By and
large, the spam in the last few weeks have originated on Google
Groups. Report it to GG. You (on GG) have choices of "Show
original" and "Report this message".

The sporge attack, or more pernicious spammers, can be reported
to news.admin.net-abuse.sightings. Just poke around and see what
has been posted there, to see the format of reports.

Rules like "snip the content of posts that you are not responding
to", and "if someone puts X-No-archive = yes at the top of their
post, do not quote it"? I think it tells me that sometimes it is
good to read and understand in a polite society.
