If I bring a large enough blob of C4 close enough to a fruit-box I can make
the fruit-box, and the C4 disappear, but I don't believe I could argue that
this violates the "reality" of their prior existence. Not as long as their
core components still exist. In the case of electron/positron annihilation
the core component, energy, still exists. It's simply in a different form
is it not?.
