The handle comes from a bulldog with a sweet disposition.
My anonymity is very superficial . I could easily be tracked down or
contacted by someone interested in doing so. I use the handle mostly
to avoid stray google searches (aka.... the sort of issues Agent
Cooper and Atlas have had to endure for simply stating their
opinions). Context is everything and when you write long enough on
politics or philosophy.... that old proverb about finding something to
hang someone with always kicks into play.
And for the record..... were I to be writing an article for a
newspaper, I would be far far more careful not to be offensive. Not
because I was trying to hide anything I didn't already believe, but
because I view forums as largely a scratch pad to explore ideas.
Everything takes time to bring up to a certain caliber. On forums I
exchange grammer, spelling, sloppy word selection, and awkward
arguments... for the sheer volume of different discussions.
I tend to think of the dialectic as akin to brainstorming notes on a
scrap piece of paper prior to writing a clean term paper that more
accurately reflects my views.
