I think that I need to specify that it is religion or *mystical*
philosophy that must be separated from government. Since man cannot
exist without having *some* philosophy, it is impossible to separate
philosophy, as such, from the state. And, it is desirable to promote
a *rational* philosophy in government leaders and the resulting
systems, anyway. To be accurate in the moral principle in politics,
one should stand for a "separation of mysticism and state".
