Yeah, I like that one too. But the first half is skimmable, Reg. It's
the second half that really shines. Did I forget to say? [/ducks/]

Here's another one, just to cross the threads. [I know. Don't cross
the threads. Why? It would be bad. Try to imagine all life as you know
it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding
at the speed of light. Total protonic reversal.]

But another book I found very useful recently was _A Woman In Charge_.
Others may find this close to incredible, but I read it because I had
an open mind and wanted to see what I could garner about what kind of
president she might make, since I thought Bill had had some good
points. That and that alone persuaded me that she needs to be boxed
and shipped to somewhere far far away. The book is not especially well
written (what the hell happened to *editing* in this country?), but it
is an eye-opener. Let's just say the lady has some major major issues,
and probably should not be put in charge of anything that might
involve people being put in harms way. Or that involves people more
generally. I think the presidency qualifies.

I also read _Prince of the City_ but that's kinda moot now. Haven't
had time to read the Obama oevre or the one bio, though I did learn
something mildly dispiriting about him from skimming it that is not
widely known.
