that his bogus claims are wrong and show him
data. He accepts my data and then simply says
it proves his point.

No, Teacup, cold kills more people. When the
temperature falls outside of optimal, more people
die per degree of change than when the temp rises.
There have been several studies that showed this
and none the other way.
