I think McCain has the right individualist instincts, but became
consumed with the desire for power, explaining his march to the left
to win the Republican nomination which proved the right strategy but
at the cost of people who want to support him over the Democrat choice
wondering what he really believes in (like Global Warming Hoax?). He
was more right than Bush-Rumsfeld on the initial troop levels in Iraq
and is no different than Bush on domestic issues like immigration,
education, campaign finance, abortion. He might be more successful
with budgets -- hopefully maintaining tax cuts -- but only with a
Republican Congress. I would like better, but Bush term 3 is Okay.
