No, as opposed to the period prior. The AGW explanation for mid-century
cooling is that the increased aerosol pollution in the forties and
fifties outweighed the CO2 forcing. By the seventies and eighties, clean
air regulations and improved technology had reined in aerosol pollution,
and CO2 emissions became dominant once more. Make of that what you will.
