Yes. The Japs were defeated militarily. No, many did not want to stop
because of this. Think of the Black Knight in the Monty Python movie.
The Japs were crazy fanatic bastards. They did not think as you or I would.
They also had four million fresh troops ready to do battle with the
Allies whose armies were a bit chewed up from the previous fighting in
the pacific and Europe. There would have been a million dead, at least.
Okinowa taught us just how crazy the Jap bastards were.
