I'm working on it with a 4-5 years of posts under my belt. (not alone
of course).
- Bush at 30% approval rating. Check.
- Republicans lost congress. Check.
- Tried my best with Ron Paul for Republican nod but i really didn't
think I had a realistic shot at that one.
- Pro-war Hillary buried in favor Obama. The impossible seems probable
at this point.
- 08 President willing to sincerely work for two-state solution
(rather than just stall with talking while Israel stuffs in more
settlements) Very possible.
I haunt several forums where I know US citizens who are
politically active are in heavy numbers. In the beginning death
threats were pretty common for me but I called it right all the way
through and an unending terrorist war broke out and seems to be
spreading. The American public sooner or latter was bound to get
pissed off at the individuals who got them into this costly mess. The
longer it goes on...the more a usually apathetic public becomes
acquainted with the finer details of the history of the region... the
more money it costs... the more their international reputation is
tarnished.....the more body bags come home.
This all works in favor of a two-state solution.
Much like far-right Aipac's and some evangelical groups methods
(who've abused their influence by turning antisemitism into a stick to
destroy the careers of many decent people).......any politician or
individual who argues against the it will find their careers cut short
as they are dismissed as incompetent crackpots. After decades of
letting the issue slide I firmly believe the time has come. I know of
many people that feel the same as I do.
