Especially considering that there are christian movements in the US
espousing a similar philosophy.

Christian Exodus, a fundamentalist movement headquartered in he Greenville,
SC area is trying to set up a community strictly observant of biblical law,
including stoning, subservience of women, and denying citizenship to
non-believers.
