Dude, lighten up! Have you ever heard of Pascal's Wager??
From Wikipedia:
The Wager posits that it is a better "bet" to believe that God exists
than not to believe, because the expected value of believing (which
Pascal assessed as infinite) is always greater than the expected value
of not believing. In Pascal's assessment, it is inexcusable not to
investigate this issue.
So I ask you 00BZN, are you so certain that there is no evidence of
Global Warming that you are willing to place a bet - a wager - that
you're right? Are you so 100% convinced that you're not being misled
by a band of wacky extremists that your willing to pay the
consequences if you're wrong? Instead of losing your soul in fiery
damnation - as in Pascal's original wager - you'll be betting on the
lives of millions of people. Are you willing to take that wager
knowing
that you could be just a issy bittsy WRONG and future generations will
be cursing your name until the day they die?
And what would be the expected value of not believing the horseshit
you're spreading? Well, let's see - cleaner air, fresher water, more
trees and lakes, healthier people. Even a socialist government run by
Al Gore and Ted Turner sounds better than food shortages and mass
starvation, environmental collapse and the continued loss of millions
of species. 20 years from now if I'm right and you're wrong and I get
my way you'll be driving to you mandatory wildlife appreciation
indoctrination class in your pollution free hydrogen car. While if I'm
wrong and you're right and you get your way, 20 years from now all the
the Northern Hemisphere might be covered under ice and the few
remaining survivors will be living in caves starving and struggling
for existence.
Are you still willing to make that Wager???
