thanks for a great reply. just curious about a few things if you would.

i noticed from your other post that you are a texan working in india
(banglore?).
thus, you are in a good position to make comparison between usa and indian
systems.
who do you have in mind when you speak of "oppressed minority"? low caste
folks? or christians?
in usa, i agree there is no violent islamic radicalism but i suspect that it
is because usa is very strong in internal security matters.
eg, hundreds if not a few thousands of muslims were apprehended by fbi after
9/11 and thoroughly investigated. i had learned about several pakistani
doctors received such treatment in san antonio.
what did you see out there that made you think the rule of law is weak? the
hindus seem to talk a good game about their country's peacefulness.
