If Exxon, Shell, British Petroleum (which now likes to call itself
"beyond petroleum"), etc., felt threatened by biofuels, they'd be
buying up farmland and shifting their efforts into what they see as
the up and coming thing. Because a company produces oil now doesn't
mean it has to do so for ever.

What Yanks see as runaway inflation is largely just a reflection of the
collapsing U.S. dollar. The geniuses who brought you sub-prime
mortgages, etc., have wrecked your economy, and you are all suffering
as a result. In other parts of the world (the vast majority of it),
things don't look anywhere near as bad.
