Their engine works. It just doesn't do what they claim. Last I heard,
their car had a range of a mile or two. This is enough to drive a
reporter around the block but otherwise not very useful.
Tata didn't invest much money, compared to the massive amount they
spend on other projects, and no one knows what other research or rights
they obtained in the deal. For all we know, they might have done this
just to show a loss on the books as part of creative bookkeeping.
If it's such a great idea, then why hasn't anyone been able to actually
build a working version? Why hasn't MDI been able to live up to their
own press releases for the last 8 years?
