You may remember this posting under the title of "The Wink":-
We usually let the rabbits into the house with Little H having the sitting
room floor. She is an active rabbit always running and investigating things
rather like a dog which she sometimes resembles. She has several favourite
places, one being under the sideboard, in the room's corner.
One evening she was there making a row as she tried to scrabble the walls
away. We had prepared for this by putting some hardboard against the wall in
this place, but the sounds were not the usual ones. So I crept up and by
lying on the carpet peered under the sideboard into the corner. I was lying
on my stomach with hands folded under my chin. There was Little H busy with
her digging through the hardboard. "What do you think you're doing" said I
to Little H. She turned round, came slightly forward and then with the fully
bunny thing like falling went onto her side with back legs straight out but
front ones extended into a position like a sphinx and her head similarly up.
I said something to her and, to see what if any damage had been done put my
head sideways on the floor. Little H then got up and threw herself
completely onto her other side (in that funny bunny way) with all four legs
out and put her own head sideways onto the carpet. It was so endearing.
And then I swear she winked!
Well we had another one the other night:-
In this hot weather we're keeping her indoors at night. The bed time
procedure is that she's taken to the kitchen and in her cage. She is "put to
bed" to always with the following words: "Alright H? - Good Night H - Good
night Bunny." and she usually faces the speaker. On this night after the
words she squatted down; rolled over onto her side with her legs out; and
put her head down on the cage floor.
It was wonderful.
